6-Step Nutritional Health Process

1. Identification of Need

Dr. Wolpo identifies the need for a nutritional intervention based on his knowledge of the patient’s health history and/or a condition identified during a routine dental visit.

2. QFA Recommendation

Dr. Wolpo recommends a nutritional evaluation: Quantitative Fluid Analysis (QFA) test and a consultation with the Clinical Nutritionist. The QFA identifies disordered metabolic processes that may result in nutrient deficiencies.

3. QFA Test is Administered

Dr. Wolpo or the hygienist explains the QFA testing procedure to the patient. The patient receives the testing containers from the front desk and schedules the drop off date for the test fluids. A date for the nutrition consultation is scheduled with the front desk.

4. QFA Test is Analyzed

The test fluids are analyzed and report is generated. The patient keeps a food log for three days prior to the initial nutrition consultation.

5. QFA Test Results Are Interpreted

The patient meets with Clinical Nutritionist, Geri Zatcoff. During this initial one hour meeting, the results of the QFA are explained and the patient’s food log is analyzed. Dietary and supplement recommendations are discussed.

6. Food and Supplement Plan Created

During the initial consultation a food plan and supplement protocol is developed based on the results of the QFA. In this way, the supplement protocol is targeted towards the specific needs of the patient. A follow-up appointment is scheduled if indicated.
